Our mission is to fund research for melanoma cancer and to provide support for melanoma patients, families, and caregivers.
Meet T.A.F.
The Tad Agnew Foundation has been established by Chris and Margy Agnew in honor of their beloved son Tad. Tad was diagnosed with Stage 4 melanoma, the most advanced stage of the skin cancer in 2009 and passed away after a two year battle on February 4, 2012.
Chris and Margy knew how much their son wanted to keep others from sharing his experience, and they started the foundation to raise funds for melanoma research and the search for a cure.
About Tad
Tad Agnew was a healthy man in his early 30s when he started to have headaches. They lasted for a month or two, but he didn’t think anything of it until one evening when he got sick. He took himself to the emergency room that night in October 2009. The doctors did an MRI and found a brain tumor nearly the size of a tennis ball. They diagnosed him with Stage 4 melanoma, the most advanced stage of the skin cancer.
About Melanoma
Every six minutes, someone in the United States is diagnosed with melanoma, which is the deadliest form of skin cancer. It strikes people from all walks of life, and if it isn’t treated promptly, it can spread to other parts of the body.
